BIOGRAPHY

Born in New Mexico and raised in Colorado, Paul has developed a deep appreciation for the landscapes of the American West. As a young boy, he spent countless days camping, hiking and exploring the wild places of Colorado.  For Paul, spending time in the National Parks, National Monuments and National Forests were an opportunity to enjoy nature at its finest. Paul chose to stay close to home and attend Colorado State University in Fort Collins. He earned a degree in Biological Science and following graduation he began his career at one of the most respected medical institutions in the country.  As a way to describe the beauty of the landscapes he was still enjoying, he purchased his first SLR camera in 2001. The more he leaned about photography, the more he enjoyed his new artistic outlet. Gradually, his skills developed and he was confident enough to share his work with his friends and family. In 2005 two of his landscapes were included in a special display at the State Capitol in Denver. Paul finally joined the digital age in 2006 with the purchase of a Canon 30D digital SLR.  Paul is excited and honored to share his love of landscapes and photography with all of the visitors to his website.

"There is an indescribable feeling I get while, shivering on the shore of a mountain lake in pre-dawn. It’s the anticipation, then the joy of watching the first rays of light break over the horizon, and the glow they cast on forbidding mountain peaks. There is a certain peace that washes over me as the sun descends behind the clouds, with a final glow of transcendent color. Capturing successful images of such fleeting moments is often a challenge, but even a photographically unsuccessful trip still gives me the opportunity to see the most beautiful places on Earth. I encourage everyone, get out there and visit those places. I hope you enjoy the images I have captured, and I thank you for sharing in my passion."
